Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2026-05-12

This is a plain-language draft of our privacy practices. We're updating it with formal legal language. If you have questions in the meantime, email [email protected].

What we collect

We collect as little as we can get away with. Specifically:

  • Analytics: anonymous page-view data via standard web analytics. We do not link visits to a person.
  • Account info (optional): if you create an account, we store your email address and any settings you save. We do not require accounts to use the tools or browse the directory.
  • Messages you type into the tools: sent to our AI provider (OpenAI) so the analysis can happen. We do not store the message text on our servers after the analysis is returned. The browser may cache your most recent input locally so you can switch between tools without retyping.

What we don't collect

  • We don't sell your data. To anyone. Ever.
  • We don't track you across other websites.
  • We don't keep the messages you analyze with our tools after the analysis completes.
  • We don't share your account details with third parties for marketing.

Third-party services we use

  • AI model providers — third-party AI services run the language-model analysis for the communication tools. The specific providers may change over time as we evaluate models; we'll update this page with the current list when we finalize the policy.
  • Supabase — hosts our database (recreation centers, user accounts) and authentication.
  • Cloudflare — serves the website and protects against attacks.
  • Google AdSense (planned) — may serve advertisements based on browsing behavior. We'll update this policy when we go live with ads.

Cookies

We use a small number of cookies and similar storage (mostly sessionStorage / localStorage in your browser) to remember your theme, your location preference for the pickleball directory, and any message you've recently typed into the tools. None of this is sent to us — it stays in your browser.

Your rights

You can request a copy of any account data we hold, or ask us to delete it, by emailing [email protected]. If you're in the EU or UK, you have specific rights under GDPR; in California, you have rights under CCPA. We honor all of them.

Children

How To, Boomer! is not directed at children under 13. We don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 13. If you believe we've accidentally collected such data, email us and we'll delete it.

Changes to this policy

We'll update the "Last updated" date at the top whenever this changes. For material changes, we'll add a note to the homepage or email signed-in users.
